Costa Rica defeated the United States Men's National Team 3-1 in World Cup qualifying on Friday night in front of a sold out home crowd. Costa Rica dominated most of the first half and they found themselves with a 2-0 lead early on. The U.S. closed the gap with a Clint Dempsey penalty kick just
before the half. However, the Americans had some bad luck as they gave up a bad third goal that developed off of a long ball. Although they were defeated, the U.S. remains in strong position to receive another World Cup berth. They continue their World Cup qualifying campaign on Tuesday night in Columbus, Ohio against Mexico.
More to come later
